About D'ARTS

We are a small charity that organises creative weekend workshops for adults with learning disabilities in the Exeter area.

Since starting in 2010, we have run over 100 events giving people the opportunity to try dance, drama, animation, pottery, art and much more.

We hold events once a month on Saturday at one of Exeter’s vibrant community centres.

Our Mission

To give adults with learning disabilities the opportunity to connect and be creative in a supportive environment.

The trustees formed D’ARTS after seeing adults with learning disabilities had limited opportunities to try new activities and socialise within the community.

The benefits of attending these events are:

  • Development of new skills
  • Increased self-esteem and confidence
  • To build social networks and reduce isolation
  • To have fun and enjoy creative activities

In 2015, the charity also launched D’ArtsFest, an annual weekend festival. The event includes creative workshops and music for people with learning disabilities and their friends, families and carers.

We would love your support!
